The abuse of your cell phone is impossible unless you make your device accessible to others and / or enter a code at their request.

Public Relations of MCI announced: recently, some media zoomed in hacking of cell phones. These actions resulted in reaction of Regulatory Organization and, Hamrah-e-Avval, as the first and largest mobile network operator, owes itself to the public to make some clarifications.

According to this report, abuse of your cell phone is impossible unless the subscriber makes his / her device accessible to others and / or enters any code at the request of some unauthorized people.

The report adds: recently, some mobile based software have been seen in the market place which make possible the connectivity of some unauthorized people to your mobile device if your Bluetooth is ON; they enter to your device via Bluetooth and ask you to enter a code. After entering this code, indeed, you give access to them to manage your device and use your personal information. They can also send SMS or make local or international calls from your device. Therefore, we suggest the subscribers to set their Bluetooth connection on OFF position except when and where it’s necessary by observation of all safety and security principles.

Since the majority of hidden codes are easily found on the internet, somebody can manage the device by use of these codes such as call divert, or call forwarding.

Also, sometimes, you may receive calls from somebody saying that they are testing the line. Hamrah-e-Avval announces that never the line testing is done by making a call to a subscriber. The test, if required, is done via the line.

The report then adds that the prevention of such abuses is out of operators’ control and the subscribers are strictly requested to care about their device and never give access to the illegal people.
